The story on how I discovered pop-sensation Halsey and her music

One thing people don’t know about me is that I am a curious person. I like to discover new things all the time. Movies, Music, Tv-Shows, and Books? You name it!

I have to admit that I am obsessed with the entertainment industry, and I have always been ever since I can remember. There’s just something about it that leaves me intrigued, back in 2014, when I found out about an upcoming singer-songwriter who dubbed herself as Halsey. I knew I had to get my hands onto her work.

I was relatively young when I started to listen to her songs that I didn’t know what she meant like 50% of the time. Too young to understand the message she was trying to send across but did I care? No.
Because I immediately fell in love with her music. The lyrical content was indeed a treat to hear that I developed the same vocabulary until I entered middle school.

The confidence she carried towards her stage presence was what I consumed to my introverted personality, like traveling to another universe over a screen of any technical device from the touch of my fingertips.
When I was younger, I used to be bullied, so I did not have enough people to look up to besides my family members, yet Halsey was someone I can say, she is my official idol. I really idolize her and wanted others to hear how I viewed her as a teacher.

Following the journey of a person’s career as a fan is unique in my opinion (not as a crazy obsession, I don’t condone that). You get to watch their growth into this human being that will eventually be versatile within their craft, whether it’s a decision of theirs or not.

I want to thank Halsey for making me the woman I am today. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have an addiction toward writing, and if it weren’t for her, I would have stayed as the same person. She has taught me so much more than all my teachers combined, from the art of storytelling to the beauty of self-love. I hope one day I can tell her how much she has meant to me throughout my life, but for now, somewhat of a story like this will do.
